| Here is a Beginner tut I wrote when I first started Poser. Not sure it will work in Poser 8. If you need any help or have any questions, I will be happy to help. Anyone else in the forum who knows Poser, feel free to answer questions too. My email is yummiedesigns@gmail.com and you will get my attention faster probably. If I don't answer you right away it's because real life has taken over.
You don't have to use the materials I have in the tutorials. They are just suggestions. Please feel free to save the tutorial on your drive. Keep in mind I consider myself a beginner so I don't know everything.
Happy Rendering! Annie

PS I just noticed I do have a typo in the Render Settings at the end. Max bucket size should be 64 not 6464. I will change that soon.

| I just did a quick peruse of the tutorial. I used DAZ|Studio exclusively (though getting ready to delve in to Carrara).
Bu it looks well done and laid out in an easy to follow. I'll probably look at it in more detail because every once in awhile I find a tidbit that might work (and usually does work) in Studio.
I can appreciate the effort it takes put these types of documents together since I do that for a living. So thanks for sharing your hard work.

| Thanks, Robert. Can you believe I wrote that tutorial only two weeks into Poser? I couldn't do anything but sit and stare at Poser for 5 years. I would open the program and just stare at it. Then I was in the right place at the right time and joined a beginner group. I had an excellent teacher but she liked to do video tutorials which I could follow fine. Only the rest of the class could not--all of them could read English but when it came to speaking and hearing English, some were lost. Plus they were all used to written tutorials. Teaching is my gift and I took the chance they would be able to follow my instructions. Sure enough they did and I have used it many times just to get future artists started. Now for the more advanced creator I would not be much help. LOL My teacher, BTW, became one of my best friends and we frequently talk in real life. Her wish was for her students to help each other and others. A "Pay It Forward" type of endeavor. Anyway, if you find any changes I need to make and or have suggestions, let me know. I want to update the lights because by just changing the color on the default lights, you can get a good enough effect until one learns more about lighting. | Yep, written words are easier to understand than vocal. I get material written in French and with my interest in semantics and entomology and several years of Spanish classes, I can get the gist of an article and not have to rely on what we call 'Frenglish' (a translation by someone who thinks they know American English).
And as for belonging to a group of people who teach, fully on board with that concept. I joined DreamLight in December. Feel like I have learned more in 4 months than the past several years of trying to puzzle it out on my own. They have great vids, e-books and live sessions. Fortunately for me, all in English (though Walde lives in Sweden).

| I tried this and was surprised at how well written it was. Very easy to follow. |
